Tips Tuesday: Kitty Litter Cake

What You Need:

  • 1 package prepared funfetti cake mix, cooled to room temperature (pan doesn't matter, it's not staying in there!)
  • 1 package prepared german chocolate or spice cake mix, cooled to room temperature (pan doesn't matter, it's not staying in there!)
  • 2 (3.5oz) packages instant vanilla pudding prepared and chilled
  • Handful tootsie rolls (I used the thick ones you find in the candy mixes)
  • Plastic tub that looks like a litter box (I bought a new one at the dollar store)
  • Kitty litter scoop (new!)

What You Do:

  1. Crumble the cakes into a large bowl and mix well
  2. Slowly add pudding tossing with cake until cake is moist and clumping but not soggy
  3. Place half tootsie rolls on a microwave safe plate, unwrapped
  4. Heat in microwave in 5-10 second intervals until soft but not melted (this is really trial and error because every microwave is different)
  5. While still malleable shape and pull so they look like little turds
  6. Bury the first set in the kitty litter, then repeat with the other set on top of the kitty litter
  7. Serve and enjoy!
