Christmas Eve

What is Christmas Eve?

The day/night before Christmas, also known as Christmas Evening, Christmas Vigil, Day before Christmas, and the Night before Christmas.

How do you celebrate Christmas Eve?

This tends to vary by family and culture. Often midnight mass is celebrated by Christians, with churches ringing their bells at midnight. Gathering with friends and family to sing carols and eating, decorating a tree, or wrapping and exchanging gifts is also a common practice.

What do I do for Christmas Eve?

In my family we gather around the couch and read "A Visit From Saint Nicholas", a short history of Santa Claus, and a retelling of Jesus's birth. Then we set out cookies and milk for Santa before heading to bed. After everyone is asleep gifts appear in stockings and under the tree for everyone.
