Pequeña y Poderosa – Small and Mighty
by Stephanie Nelson
Mari is just a regular little girl who wants to make a difference in the world. However, everyone keeps telling her she is just too small to do that. Instead of getting discouraged, she gets creative and finds a way to make a difference!

This was a sweet book, with cute illustrations, and an important message. It’s written in both English and Spanish, and would be ideal for bilingual kids or those who are working towards being bilingual. The illustrations match up well with the story. I loved how much Mari wanted to help the world, and how she didn’t let the naysayers stop her from trying her best. She’s a smart little girl who learns a powerful lesson – even little things (and people) can make a big difference. Getting to watch her share kindness and the ripples that spread from that kindness made for a fun story, one that kids and adults alike will enjoy, whether they’re bilingual or not!
