I absolutely adored this book. Adelaide and Gavin couldn’t be more opposite, yet they’re so clearly perfect for each other from the outset. The story starts simply enough, but things quickly get complicated as they each discover the other is not quite what they expected. My heart really went out to Adelaide, and I can see why she ended up becoming a thief. On the other hand, I can appreciate Gavin’s dedication to his work, and keeping the kingdom safe. The story unfolds at a good pace, and the slow burn is killer, but works well within the context of the story. Overall, it was a mix of sweet romance, magic, and intrigue. Definitely recommend if you enjoy fade-to-black romantasy!
