Blood Magic is interesting. It started off a bit slow, but once you get a little further in, it gets interesting. I fell in love with Dufin, his gruff exterior and soft heart. A misfit group, a mysterious package, shadow creatures that lurk in the dark, what could possibly go wrong? You’ll find yourself wrapped up in the story. A fun read.

protect his client list. The dryad only wishes to remain with his
forest but the uncertainty of the kings desires for him frightens him
more than leaving his life behind. Both are faced with a choice
neither wants to make.

The Gift starts off with a bang. Wow, after book one, I was worried this would be a slow starter too but it’s the exact opposite. You’re tossed right into the thick of it, and you get wrapped up in the story so fast you don’t realize it’s happening. Schemerhorn seems to have found a great storytelling groove, and fantasy adventure lovers will definitely enjoy this book.

Tor is a refreshing new fantasy. It’s not often that orcs are the heroes of the story, but Tor is just that. A strong (orc) heroine, who will go to great lengths to try and stop a mysterious threat. She’s lost everything but her fighting spirit despite being sent off to become a healer, she hasn’t lost her fighting spirit. A great heroine and a great story.
