I didn’t think this series could take me on any more of an emotional roller coaster, and then I started reading this installment. Buckle in with your favorite cozy drink and a box of tissues, this is a wild ride from start to finish. Matt is so very human, and I truly appreciate that no punches are pulled on this – he’s not made out to be a saint, but a man who has loved and lost and feels all the emotions you’d expect a human to feel, including jealousy and insecurity. I think that, more than anything, is what has mostly kept me hooked – you’re watching what could easily be a real man’s life unfold before your eyes. It takes a special talent to really bring something so raw to life without it feeling overwhelming, but Ken has excelled at doing so. The story itself is interesting, and moves along at a decent pace, but at least for me, it was wanting to know where the characters were going next that kept me reading more than anything. I must admit I’ve become quite attached to them now.
