What will become of Paul and Neal? How will Matt make sense of their lives when he can’t make sense of his own? Is love enough when it requires a leap of faith into a scary, new world? This series officially holds a special place in my heart. This latest installment was just as emotional, and really showed how strong the bonds between friends that become family truly are. I’ve become so attached to Matt, Heather, Paul/Babette, and Neal, and I feel like I’ve known them for years, despite simply flying through this series this year (if you start reading it, you’ll understand why I couldn’t wait to read all the books). Matt has such a big heart, and while he can be driven by his emotions at times, he’s also very loyal to those he cares about, and wants to see them happy too. Unfortunately, at times, that can lead to some very impulsive decisions, that could’ve turned out worse if not for a little luck and maybe fate intervening on his behalf. Honestly, the hardest part of reading this was knowing I was getting closer to the end, and saying goodbye to what feel like good friends. While I do recommend starting with book one, as there’s a lot of character development and growth over the first two books, I promise, you won’t be disappointed. Because honestly, you need to read this series.
