It’s been absolutely amazing watching Giada, Luca, and Adrian change and evolve over the course of this series, along with their relationships. Malloy hasn’t disappointed with this final installment, either. Giada was so immature when we first meet her in book one, but she’s truly come into her own. Although her impulsivity occasionally shines through, which makes her feel all the more real, it’s nice to see how much she’s matured. Luca has grown on me quite a bit, and while at first I was really holding out hope that Adrian would be the one to end up with Giada in the end, I think the way things shook out over the series is for the best. Malloy did an excellent job keeping the characters dynamic and feeling real right to the last page. The story keeps you engaged and moves along at a smooth pace, and we do get a satisfying closure on the romance front. Although I admit, I’m a little sad to leave the series behind (I do plan to read the prequels that were released, however). Definitely start with book one, but if you enjoy mafia romance with complex characters, then this is a series you absolutely have to read.
