Tracy soon finds herself caught up in the heartbreaking life on the street. The experience becomes a defining one for her, and she uses her camera to record Lanie’s life and the experiences of the homeless women she meets. In the process, she learns to deal with loss and the value of letting go, and she realizes that being a family is more about love and acceptance than about blood.

Tell the Rain Goodbye is a story whose waters run deep. A teenage girl, a life that has been thrown into chaos, and a journey about to start that will lead her to see things she has never imagined. Using her talent with a camera, Tracy begins to tell stories other than her own. I must admit, I teared up a few times reading this. What appeared to start as a simple story turned into so much more. Not a long read, but a powerful one nonetheless.
