The Queen’s Line
by Kathryn Moon

The Kingdom of Kimmery is broken…

Bryony, Princess of Kimmery, has a secret. She lacks the Hunger, the magical and passionate craving that is responsible for Kimmery’s prosperity. Without that power, she will lose the crown and the chance to rule the kingdom she sincerely loves.

The Queen’s Line must select Chosen to satiate their Hunger with and Bryony’s Choosing ceremony has arrived. On her first night with her newly assembled menβ€”a prince, an ambassador, a stablehand, a sculptor, and a rogueβ€”her own secret, and the secrets of Kimmery, spill out between them.

North of Kimmery’s capitol, the people are starving. When her truth is revealed to her iron-hearted grandmother, Bryony invents a plan to buy time. She and her Chosen will go to the desolate Winter palace where she can pretend to explore her Hunger while investigating the kingdom’s failings.

Bryony is determined to take Kimmery and its people back into a golden age, and keep her crown. As passions rise with her chosen so do the obstacles and adversaries they face. Kimmery’s prosperity isn’t the only thing Bryony misunderstood, and the Hunger is more than what it appears.

Can we talk about how amazing this entire series is?? Kathryn does it again, I don’t know where she gets the ideas for her books, but she is certainly blessed. This is a story is one of kind, not only does she do a wonderful job of world building and story line, its a unique one at that. Enter a world where the royal family supplies the prosperity for the kingdom in a very tangible way, however, not everything is what it seems. The story follows and amazing FMC who grows amazingly and stays true to herself, and it turns out that her kingdom may need her more than ever. So lets break it down

Plot Line: WOW!! The plot arc for the overall series and book one are very well written and defined. While the theme may be something you’ve seen before,a savior in the least expected, they way in which it plays out is incredible and really hot πŸ˜‰

World Building: Mimicking the world we live in with a medieval like hierarchy in the people, this world is very well fleshed out and adds the paranormal aspect as well.

Relationship Building: Kathryn always kills this and this is no different. There are many intertwining relationships and each of them is very well written and very in depth. I especially love the relationship that the FMC and her men have throughout the story. While this doesn’t start out like a typical RH and in fact the FMC is a little agianst the sexy time, it builds into a wonderful development arc.

Character building: The relationship building really shines because the characters are so well developed. You even get a wonderful feel for the “side characters” allowing for secondary favorites who you get to root for.

This is a book and an author who I highly recommend and book that I will come back to for sure. This is also a book that I need in paperback for my library. Happy Reading
