George’s two closest high school friends, Dave and Nancy (nickname Onion), struggle at times to understand his odd obsession as they deal with issues of their own both in and out of school. The story takes place during the three friends’ tumultuous senior year from beginning to end, with a major realization in store for George on graduation day.

When I first cracked open this book, I was a little worried it would move too slowly. Next thing I knew, it was hours later, and I was many chapters deep into the story. This is a fascinating coming of age story, with characters you quickly come to love. George is a great narrator, and peeking into his life was fascinating. He might have an unusual obsession with the idea of time travel, but he still faces problems most teenagers do. Although a young adult novel, older readers who are fans of contemporary literary fiction and coming of age stories are sure to enjoy reading this as well!
