What inspired you to write this? 

Throughout my life, I kept silent about trauma and abuse.  My silence festered into shame, poisoning my mental and physical health.  Unburying my afflictions and speaking my truth was the antidote for my shame, and I finally found true healing.  I wrote Rebirth of a Sage to honor the little girl that I once was who suffered in shame and silence.  I wrote Rebirth of a Sage as an offering of my love and light to those still searching in the darkness. 

What was harder, writing or editing it? 

Editing was the most difficult part of the process.  Although developmental editors are helpful to ensure that there are no plot holes and the story flows, some of the suggested edits did not seem authentic.  Although making certain changes to my story would make it appealable to more readers, I had to learn to trust myself and share my story authentically regardless of how it may be perceived.   

Can you describe your writing space? 

I wrote most of Rebirth of a Sage in the airport and on the airplane from Medellin, Colombia back home to St. Petersburg, Florida.  Inspiration called and I answered!

What’s your favorite hot drink? 

Lavender London Fog

Where is one place you’d love to visit but haven’t yet? 

I would love to travel through Patagonia.

Would you rather never stand in line again, or never have to wait at a red light again? Why?

I’d pick never having to wait at a red light.  I enjoy meeting new people while waiting in line.
