What would you do if you realized that you were about to die?
Teenager Elizabeth Martin never thought she would be in this situation. As if high school wasn’t already hard enough, she’s been the target of some very nasty bullying from some of her peers. But it gets even worse.
Elizabeth has no idea that her schoolmates are members of a terrible cult. And that they plan to sacrifice her, and stage it as a suicide.
Enter Christian Cooper, a handsome and enigmatic young man who’s new in town. He takes an interest in Elizabeth and she returns his feelings, which throws a wrench in the plans of the cult. After all, a suicide wouldn’t be very believable when Elizabeth is as happy as she’s ever been.
But there are far darker issues at play, and Elizabeth will soon have to watch as those around her are destroyed…just so that the cult can get to her. Will she be able to escape from the unknown dangers that surround her? Or will Elizabeth Martin find herself dead?

This was a mix of slice-of-life style and suspense/thriller. I loved Elizabeth, and my heart really went out to her. Bullying is hard to deal with – and when Christian showed up, I had some hope for her future being brighter. Christian was a great character, and I loved the side characters he brought into the story. I don’t want to give anything away, but let’s just say it’s a colorful cast of characters, ranging from bullies to outcasts. There wasn’t as much tension build up as I was expecting, as a lot of the early story focused more on Elizabeth and Christian. So in that sense, it wasn’t your typical suspense/thriller story. It was a good read, and an interesting story despite that. The imagery was excellent, and it was easy to see everything unfolding in front of you as you read. Great if you enjoy coming of age mixed with light suspense.
