Overall: An excellent story with the perfect narrator to bring it all to life! I greatly enjoyed listening to this book, and I find I’ve become really invested in the lives of the characters.
Narration: Picard does a superb job of bringing the story and characters to life, and it’s easy to distinguish who’s talking. You easily get lost in the story, wrapped in Picard’s narration. I found myself getting distracted as I tried to listen while doing chores, more interested in listening to the story than focusing on what I was doing.
Story: The plot pulls you in quickly, and keeps up the pace from start to end. It was all deliciously dark, with unforgettable characters. Benson did a great job of bringing the historical time period to life, and clearly did plenty of research. I felt so wrapped up in the characters and setting that it felt strange when I returned to the modern world. Highly recommend!
