You Unique Little Thing!
by Priya Ram

If children need to believe that they truly matter, then teaching them positive self-talk is crucial because words have great power. What they say is what they feel, what they feel is how they will behave and how they behave is what they will become.

“You unique little thing” is a book for kids to help them embrace their uniqueness and strengths. Each character in this book cherishes their talents, also while learning to be kind, determined and empathetic. It shows them to pursue their dreams despite failures and obstacles they may face in life.

5 out of 5 fairies

If I could give this more than five stars, I would. It’s a great book, with excellent illustrations and a really important message for kids. The illustrations help bring the story and message to life, and kids and adults will enjoy them. There’s a nice range of diversity among the kids depicted, along with a variety of activities. The message is clear, and celebrates being different but also that it’s ok to not be perfect, and to not compare yourself to others while working towards improving, and the importance of being kind and supportive. Definitely a book I’d gift to the kids in my life, and would love to see at my local library.

As a child Priya wanted to be an AERO PLANE, that didn’t work out so she started drawing instead. Now she’s a mother who is a writer rather a writer who finds time to be a mom.
Growing up in a boarding school for years, reading and drawing quickly became her escape activity and it wasn’t long before high school she realized illustrating was her forte. She finds conversing with children to be most therapeutic besides meditation. Apart from writing and drawing, she’s also a caring plant parent who loves to overfeed her plants and makes sure they flower.

Most of her stories were written and drafted in the time she got between cooking curries and baking breads. And she’s proud that she hasn’t burnt any of her breads so far.

Her little boy is her source of inspiration and he wants to be a FIRETRUCK when he grows up. An ambition to be a vehicle runs in her family.
