I loved this story – three amazing characters, soul mates, and a unique way of meeting. It’s so easy to fall in love with Maddie, Charlie, and Cole. I don’t know what I’d do if I found myself in Maddie’s situation, but she handles it well! Kincaid did an excellent job of bringing both characters and story to life. It’s steamy enough that you’ll want to read this alone or with a nice cool drink at hand, but sweet enough to melt your heart. If you’re looking for a unique paranormal romance, with unforgettable MCs, then you’ll want to grab this one!

Lily:  Thank you so much for agreeing to this interview Elena I really enjoyed reading your steamy paranormal romance Three Made In Heaven. What inspired you to write this?

Elena:  Hi Lily. My pleasure. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. This book actually started from a dream I had. I had a dream about a man and a woman sitting in an igloo and the woman was crying, distraught about how she didn’t want to live in a dream anymore. Of course, the igloo scene made it into the book. I woke up the next morning and began frantically writing down what dialogue I could remember and throughout the day I kept jotting notes. By the end of the day, I had about 75% of the book outlined.

Lily:  That’s awesome! Out of Maddie, Charlie, and Cole, who’s your favorite character? 

Elena:  Oh, I can’t pick a favorite. All three of them have qualities I love. What I can say, is that writing Charlie’s lines were the most fun. He was definitely the most entertaining. 

Lily:  I don’t think I could pick a favorite either. Is Maddie based on anyone?

Elena: Not really based on anyone. As I flesh out my characters, they tend to take on a life of their own. She was formed out of the dream I had. Some of my personality is in there too, though she’s definitely ballsier than I am.

Lily:  I love that she started as a dream. What would you do if you found yourself in Maddie’s position?

Elena:  I’d feel like I died and went to heaven. 😉 I know that was cheesy. I’d consider myself very lucky to find such good men like that. Definitely roll with it.

Lily:  I think I’d have a time of it trying to get over the shock lol. Now we’d like to talk about you as a writer. What’s harder, writing or editing the first draft?

Elena:  Writing is the fun part, but also the hardest. There are days when the words flow and some when I see a scene in my head, but the words won’t come. Yeah, getting the story out and making it like how I had envisioned it is definitely the hard part, I would say. I reread a lot and edit as I write, so by the time I hit the end and do a first edit, it’s not so much a first edit anymore.

Lily:  Editing as you go sounds like it makes the first real round of editing easier. Do you prefer to handwrite, dictate, or type your first draft? 

Elena: I always type. My handwriting is so bad, I probably wouldn’t be able to read half of it.

Lily:  I can definitely relate to that. I write myself notes then have to puzzle out what I wrote. How do you keep track of inspiration when it strikes?

Elena: I’m definitely one of those writers who has a million notebooks. I also have sticky notes. Notes, basically everywhere. Unfortunately, some are very illegible. 

Lily:  Nothing wrong with lots of notebooks, I certainly use quite a few. Let’s finish up with some fun questions and get inside your mind. If someone asked to be your apprentice and learn all that you know, what would you teach them?

Elena:  I have a lot of useless knowledge in my head (you know, from all the research I have to do for my books). Let’s go with that…I’d teach them some useless knowledge, a whole bunch of 80’s songs, rock ballads, pop culture…

Lily:  That would be awesome! What fictional character is amazing in their book/show/movie, but would be insufferable if you had to deal with them in mundane everyday situations?

Elena:  This is a hard one, but I’ll go with the first one that popped into my head: Mrs. Bennet. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books and I also adore the 5 hour BBC version. Mrs. Bennet is one of those characters, both in the book and movie version, who is entertaining to read/watch, but yeah, in real life, I think there would be only so much I could take. Oh the flutterings and the spasms…

Lily:  Yeah I don’t know if I could handle her in real life, although I do enjoy Pride and Prejudice. Would you rather be able to dodge anything no matter how fast it’s moving or be able to ask any three questions and have them answered accurately?

Elena:  Definitely the questions. I’d have to really word them well to get the mysteries of life answered. ☺ 

Lily:  It’d be interesting to get some of those answers. What’s your favorite way to unwind?

Elena:  I love to binge watch shows or get lost in a book.

Lily:  I’m definitely a binge watcher. Are you superstitious? What’s one (or a few) superstition(s) you believe in?

Elena:  I am a little. I knock on wood all the time. I would say that’s really the biggest one. 

Lily:  I knock on wood almost out of habit at this point, I think. What’s your favorite place to read? What’s your ideal reading space?

Elena:  I usually like to read on my couch. Ideally, I would love to have an office, walls lined with books, and a seat by the window to read. 

Lily:  That sounds like a wonderful space to read in. Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?

Elena:  Ocean’s Three is the second book in the Made In Heaven series and it’s out now. We have another trio that meet up in their dreams, but the majority of this book takes place on a cruise ship. Fun fact: I wrote the majority of this book while on a cruise.
