But in true Jack Cannon style, the mystery turns into a phenomenal epic finale of wonder and amazement that is certain to thrill and excite readers. What a great way to launch a middle grade mystery series! Featuring a unique group of junior detectives, this book is well-written with a smoothly moving plot. Although the stakes aren’t as high as you’ll find in adult-geared books, Ermilio still manages to build tension while introducing us to unforgettable characters. I liked how they still had to navigate all the typical things you’d expect a middle schooler to, while being determined to solve various mysteries. If this is a sign of things to come, then I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
