This was such a fun story, perfect for all magic and fairy lovers, young and old. Lipson has done an excellent job of bringing together unique characters, a magical world, and a brilliant plot that will have you reluctant to stop the adventure before the end. I love how it wasn’t just *one* chosen human taken to help the fairies, but a whole family. (No issues with the chosen one trope, but this was a nice new spin). As someone who loves all things fae and magical, I really did enjoy Lipson’s take on them, and how he portrayed them. I cannot recommend this enough if you’re looking for a new adventure to share with your middle grade/young adult readers!
James Lipson’s debut book, Fallen and Other Stories, was published in 2019. His short stories have appeared in Black Hare Press Anthologies, Zombie Pirate Publishing, Clarendon Publishing Anthologies, Teleport Magazine and many others.
With a background in art, James has naturally turned to illustrating as he writes, bringing many of his short stories to life not only with descriptive detail, but also detailed visual imagery.
