Floriana and the Lost Friend
written by David Jappy
illustrated by Katt Loydon

Floriana lives with the Fairy Community deep in Wardija Woods. The fairies live happily together, helping each other with almost everything they do.

That help is needed one day when Floriana and the Fairy Community realise that Verdala has gone missing!

The fairies decide they have to go and look for her and help her if she is in trouble. Will they find her? What will they do?

5 out of 5 fairies

This was an adorable story, with beautiful and cute matching illustrations, and some important lessons mixed in, too! Loydon did an excellent job of helping to bring Jappy’s story to life, with the illustrations matching the detailed descriptions so well. The story itself has some important messages about caring for others, checking in on our friends, and neighbors, and how important community is. Side note for anyone outside the UK who reads this, 999 the UK emergency services number is mentioned, but you could easily replace that with the number that is relevant for your region, or use it as a teaching moment to explain that other places have different emergency numbers. (For us here in the US, most places it would be 911). If you’re looking for a fun, whimsical story to share with your little ones that will also share an important life lesson, you need to grab this!
