It feels almost a little surreal to reach the end of Hades and Persephone’s arc, it’s a little bittersweet, and what a ride it’s been. Rune and Rose didn’t disappoint, however, and closed out the story with just as much tension and finesse as the first two installments had. There were some moments that were hard to read, it can get a bit darker at times than the first two books, and there are warnings at the start of the book for those who want to be prepared before diving in. This isn’t a smooth ride to a happy-ever-after, however. There are tears, steamy passion, darkness, and light all packed between the covers. The story moves along at a good pace, and keeps your attention til the very end. You do need to read books one and two, or you’re going to be quite lost, as a lot of relationship and character development takes place in them. That said, I’m looking forward to the new story arc with new characters that will be starting in the next book in this series!
