Angels, humans, a lot of conflict, a bit of intrigue, and an unforgettable story wait for you inside this book. Chowdhury has done an excellent job with the world-building, both terrestrial and angelic. The characters are complex, and you really can’t take any of them at face value. There’s so much I’d like to talk about, but I don’t want to give any spoilers, but let’s just say that there are a few twists. My heart went out to Ruban, and all the pain he’s faced in his life. He’s definitely a product of his life, and I can’t blame him for the prejudices he has based on personal tragedy and the society he was raised in. Ashwin is definitely a character to watch out for, he’s much more than he seems. I was so wrapped up in the story, I easily lost track of time. It is a fairly long book, but it doesn’t feel like it once you’ve started reading. I can’t wait to see what book two has in store after devouring this one!
