Despite everything he’s done to her, Thea still can’t resist Syver’s touch, and his knowledge of that fact makes him unbearably arrogant. Syver can’t seem to think straight or control himself whenever Thea is around, putting them both in danger.

Can these two werewolves learn to control the chaos within them before someone ends up dead?

As someone who has studied Norse mythology, I found it fascinating to see Mánagarmr reimagined as werewolves who serve or worship Hati. The author, Lieber, did an excellent job of respecting the original lore while adding a unique spin, seamlessly integrating it into Thea and Syver’s tumultuous love story for a fresh twist on the paranormal romance genre. Although their relationship begins rocky and has its ups and downs, it’s clear that there is a deep connection between them that draws them together. Syver is somewhat cocky and possessive, yet also displays a strong protective instinct. Thea on the other hand is fiercely independent. While Thea feels a primal attraction to Syver, she also yearns for her freedom, which I am sure many readers can relate to. Overall, without giving it away, this is a captivating paranormal romance that left me tipping my hat to the author for the lore twist that tickled my brain and left me turning pages to see what happens next.

“Hati, hound birthed in Ironwood, give me strength. As you know you will someday swallow Máni, lend me your patience in this moment.” Syver gripped the steering wheel as he muttered a prayer between his clenched jaws.

From this distance, he couldn’t hear what the man with the trash bag was saying to Thea, but his body language was clear enough.

Syver told himself Thea didn’t belong to him, especially now that she could hardly stand the sight of him. But those rational words meant little to the wolf inside him.

His hands trembled as his knuckles whitened, and he could feel his vision sharpen and his blood howl. How dare this upstart human approach her?

His breath was coming in short bursts, no presence of mind to control it.

Syver watched as Thea smiled and waved at the man, her eyes warm while she tucked her hair behind her ear. She’d never looked at him like that before, never shown him that expression.

Somewhere in his rational mind, he knew she’d shown him other things, more intimate, vulnerable things, but that part of his brain was too quiet at the moment. Too loud was the desire to close his jaws around the man’s throat.
