Unable to avoid the reality of what he truly is, Paul has a mental breakdown, goes on a cross-country road trip…and runs afoul of something far, far more inhuman and dangerous than himself.

Creepy, with a healthy dose of body and Cthulhu level horror, this is one story you won’t soon forget. Although the story isn’t very long, it packs a powerful punch. The way everything is described will make your skin crawl, and send chills down your spine. The raw, primal emotions that flow through it really drive home the otherness of the bugs. We get to see the story from two point of view, first “Paul” and then “Axa,” each adding their own new layer of horror to everything. I loved how at war with himself “Paul” was at first, and how quickly that went downhill once he was in heat. I loved how they had real (bug) names and then human names that went with the appearances they wore, and how “Paul” insisted on being called Paul, even when the others were using their bug/true names. The story is perfect if you’re a fan of gorey body horror, that mixes with a cosmic, Cthulhu type mythos. Definitely won’t be forgetting this one anytime soon!
