Daybreak: Seizing the Gift
by SanDee Priser

What if this daybreak were your last? What if it were your first?

The two days might be surprisingly similar. To treasure the day. To spend it with who matters and on what matters. But too often we don’t even recognize the gift and promise of a new day. It’s just another day. And so we plod on.

Daybreak: Seizing the Gift is focused on the second type of day. One where everything is new. Everything is possible. There are no limits other than your imagination. And your brain is nearly overheating from all the opportunities it conjures up. Building on the foundation of people, purpose, and process introduced in Awakening: Inspirations & Motivations in Living Color, Daybreak focuses on three areas of discovery to frame your day:

• Position examines how to create the necessary attitude and growth mindset to move towards your goals;
• Perspective often involves taking a step back to look at your situation and growth through a different lens;
• Perseverance is a little nudge forward with a long-term perspective when the going is tough in the near-term.

No matter where your reading takes you, you’ll find insights to cast your day in a new light that leads to even brighter tomorrows.

This was a great book, with beautiful photographs, and short entries making it easy to read in spurts. There were a few photos where the text on them was very difficult to read, making it a little frustrating at times, but overall, I enjoyed the pairing of photos with each little bit of wisdom. Each one starts with a short quote (which you’ll also find on the accompanying photograph), followed by a longer paragraph. You can read this cover to cover, or there’s an index at the back that you can use to find quotes linked to certain words if you need a particular piece of wisdom that day. I like that it’s broken into three sections, with each section having an overall focus, but each post having a different, more refined focus. Definitely recommend, especially if you’ve already read the previous book.
