A Ravishing Abomination: Faith. Power. Murder. A Dark Pulp Novella
The Bramble Books
by Dutch Broadstreet

I didn’t intend to kill a televangelist. But once I met his wife, the rest felt inevitable.
Jordan Bramble makes a living spotting weaknesses and exploiting them for profit. He applies pressure. He gets paid.
When he meets Seraphine Hale—the dangerously beautiful wife of a rising Christian celebrity—he thinks he’s found his next sexual conquest. Instead, he finds a ruthless partner in crime.
Together they hatch a deadly plan that will turn a digital megachurch into the biggest religious phenomenon in America. All it takes is a little seduction, a carefully staged tragedy, and a nation desperate to believe.
But when the cameras turn on and the donations start pouring in, Bramble realizes something unsettling: Seraphine may be even more ruthless than he is.
A Ravishing Abomination is a fast, vicious pulp novella about sex, faith, media manipulation, and the kind of ambition that leaves bodies behind.
In every great con, someone eventually becomes expendable.

4.5 out of 5 fairies
If you enjoy the old pulp style stories, you’re going to thoroughly enjoy this one. It follows along the same style as the old pulps, language, vibes, and all. My only complaint is that occasionally it leans a little too hard into the trope, to the point it feels like its toeing the line between genuine style and a parody of that style. I do love that Bramble is true to his character from start to finish. Not someone you necessarily like, but you have to appreciate his dedication to the hustle. And compared to Seraphine…well, let’s just say he’s not the least likeable character in this story. I think that’s probably what I love most about this novella, how even though you might not like the characters, you’re addicted to their story, and seeing where their ambitions take them. Seeing who gets hit hard, and who skates away freely. Definitely recommend if you’re a fan of the old pulp books and stories!

Dutch Broadstreet writes vicious pulp fiction about ambition, corruption, and the people clever enough to profit from both.
