As The Weird Sisters return from their first What-Could-Go-Wrong (spoiler alert – everything) National Tour, bandmates/lovers John and Jenny face their iffy futures together (or apart) as the brilliant and mysterious Katie upends the romantic/artistic balance that’s been precarious-at-best. The unmitigated vanity, the mythopoeic beauty, the megalomania and heartbreak, the exquisite talent and ludicrous hubris – it’s all here in Fredrick’s wonderful, tart-sweet, final installment. 

What inspired you to write this?
I had a trilogy to complete and lots of jokes to make and stories within stories to tell. 

If you could spend a day with John, Jenny, or Katie, who would you choose and what would you do?
Take all three to the pub and get to the root of their motivations after a few pints of lager then Guinness!

This is the third installment in the series, did the story end where you thought it would when you start book one?
Seeing as I write in order to find out what my characters will “naturally” do, I am constantly surprised at what eventuates FROM character itself.  I plot, as it were, my characters meticulously, but I do not plot my plots—if that makes sense.

What’s your ideal writing space look like?
Small, quiet, views of pretty trees outside; scotch at the ready, maybe a spliff from time to time. 

Do you have a favorite time of day and/or place to write?
It depends upon how things are going.  I am, reluctantly, a morning person.  I often write till I am exhausted; and then carry on for another hour or so.  Sometimes one’s best stuff comes when one is tired to the point of wide open, so to speak.

How do you keep track of inspiration when it strikes?
One generates inspiration by writing sentences one would like to read.

If you could spend time in your favorite book, what would it be, and which character(s) would you want to hang out with? What would you do?
The “people” in War and Peace are so different from those in Pale Fire (I have two fav books) that it would be fun to get them all together and have a soiree. 

Is a hot dog a sandwich? Why or why not?
Good God, no.  And don’t put ketchup on it or you’re some kind of psycho-killer. 

What’s your favorite cheesy pickup line and/or the worst pickup line you’ve ever run across?
Are you from Tennessee?  ‘Cause you’re the only ten I see.  That one or Do you like Morrissey?  ‘Cause I’d like more of what I see.  See?  Hahaha
