Forty and Fighting Dirty
by Lilian Monroe
Imagine this: You just won the lottery in a small town, and the prize is a gorgeous old house.
You and your two boys will finally have somewhere stable to land, and your life is actually going to get easier for the first time since your divorce.
Amazing, right?
That’s what I thought, right up until they announced someone else’s name alongside my winning ticket number.
Record scratch. What?
That someone is my new boss, Rhett Baldwin. Also known as The Man Who Can Do No Wrong. The Billionaire Benefactor With A Heart Of Gold. The annoying, arrogant, wealthy, way-too-handsome man who thinks he can make me go away with a little smirk and a flick of his fingers.
Ha.
I’m a divorced single mom with nothing to lose. And I’m not going down without a fight.
Even when the fighting turns dirty

5 out of 5 fairies
This was fun, steamy, and an emotional roller coaster from the start. I loved Piper’s fire and resilience from the start. Despite how life has knocked her down, she hasn’t let it keep her down. Rhett was just as infuriating to me at first as he was to Piper, but he grew on me quickly. The dual POV made it easier to get to know them and gave more depth to the story. They’re both older, and carrying some baggage from their past relationships, and it gives them incredible depth. I love the way Monroe brings both characters and the Colorado town they live in to life. It really feels like watching a movie unfold. The story itself will keep you hooked, the push and pull between the two, their complex inner lives, all of it. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a steamy, later in life romance!
Til next time,
Lily

Lilian Monroe lives in a luxurious jungle treehouse surrounded by lush greenery, with an army of scantily-clad men with rippling abdominal muscles ready to attend to her every need.
No, wait. That’s not true.
Lilian Monroe spends her days dangling her feet into her pool, while a scantily-clad pool boy with rippling abdominal muscles feeds her chocolate-covered strawberries and massages her back.
Okay, okay. You got me. That’s not true, either. Let’s try again.
Lilian Monroe lives at home with her two children, three dogs, and twelve chickens. Her husband likes to work shirtless in the back yard. His sweaty, gleaming abdominal muscles ripple with every movement and he—
I’m sorry. I have to stop. Fine, I’ll admit it. That one isn’t true either.
How about this: Lilian Monroe loves thinking about men with rippling abdominal muscles serving her hand and foot, and she wants you to think about them too! She is an avid reader, writer, and lover of all things romance.
She loves everything from bad boys to billionaires. Her books are packed with sizzling-hot heat, action, suspense, and everything from second chances to single dads. She hates cheating and loves a good happily ever after (and rippling abs).
