Ezra’s Secret

by PD Alleva

NYC. January, 1955.

Something is wrong with Ezra—and it isn’t the kind of wrong you can pray away.

Ever since her fifteenth birthday, the world has begun to slip. Questions about who she is are met with silence, while a strange hum follows her through the city and into her dreams. When a mysterious street vendor offers her a path to the truth, Ezra is drawn into the shadows of Central Park, where an ancient secret waits.

But some truths come at a terrible cost.

As Ezra peels back the layers of her reality, she uncovers a horrifying secret buried beneath years of silence and fear. And she soon learns that the greatest horrors aren’t hiding in the shadows.

They’re hiding in plain sight.

Ezra’s Secret is a chilling psychological horror novel about identity, trauma, and the terrifying cost of uncovering the truth.

It might still be sunny and warm out, but this is the perfect book to get you ready for spooky season and send chills down your spine. Alleva has once again shown his mastery over the horror genre, this time with a psychological horror that lingers in your own mind long after you close the book. The descriptions are vivid and make you feel like you’re watching the story unfold before your eyes. It honestly almost feels like you’re watching a movie that Hitchcock would have made but never did. There’s so much I’d love to talk about with this book, but I try my best to avoid spoilers, and diving deep into the details would unfortunately cross the line into them. This is a fairly short, quick read, but packs a powerful punch all the same. Absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a new, terrifying, psychological horror to read.
